Dawet syrup is a sweet, often slightly pink, coconut-based syrup that originates from Indonesia and is popular in Suriname and the Netherlands. It is typically mixed with coconut milk, water, and ice to make a refreshing, creamy drink, sometimes with tapioca pearls or agar-agar, and also serves as a base for desserts, shakes, or cocktails.
