Panang curry paste
Panang curry paste (also known as panaeng) is an aromatic Thai spice paste that serves as the basis for the panang curry of the same name. It is considered a milder, sweeter, and creamier version of the classic red curry paste.
Difference to red curry paste
Although both are based on red chilies, panang paste is more aromatic and less spicy than pure red curry paste due to the addition of spices such as cumin and coriander seeds, and often peanuts.
In cooking, it is traditionally combined with beef, but is also excellent with chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
