Jackfruit in coconut
Gudeg Komplit is a traditional, hearty Indonesian dish from Yogyakarta, Central Java. It consists of young jackfruit, simmered for hours in coconut milk and palm sugar until tender, served with rice, opor (chicken braised in a creamy coconut milk sauce), telur pindang (eggs cooked in spices and teak leaves, which turn a brownish color), sambal goreng krecek (a spicy, often hot, stew made with beef hide crackers), and sambal (hot chili paste). The flavor is a combination of sweet and savory.
