Sweet Soy Sauce
Sweet soy sauce (also known as kecap manis) is a thick, sweet, and aromatic Indonesian soy sauce sweetened with palm sugar. It has a syrupy consistency, a deep brown, caramel-like color, and a rich umami profile.
Netto: 600ml
Ingredients: Sugar (content sulfite), soy sauce extract (water, salt, soybeans 2,6%, wheat), water, salt, coloring (plain caramel), preservative (sodium benzoate), citric acid, thickener (xanthan gum)
Best Before: 14.04.2027
Uses:
Marinade & glaze: Ideal for marinating meat, poultry, seafood, or tofu, as the sugar caramelizes when grilled or fried, adding depth to the dish.
Seasoning: It is often used in traditional Indonesian dishes such as nasi goreng (fried rice), mie goreng (fried noodles), and satay (grilled skewers).
Dip sauce: The sauce can be used pure or mixed with other ingredients such as chopped shallots and chilies as a dip for fried snacks.
Sauce base: It serves as a base for stews (e.g., ayam kecap, chicken in sweet soy sauce) or can add a shiny, caramelized note to noodles and stir-fries.
